Jackson is fighting to maintain his independence in the face of an agency’s decision to stop
paying its portion of a mortgage. Wayne County Health Department and a contractor, Community
Living Services, offered Jerome an opportunity to live in a home of his own in the Detroit suburb
of Inkster.
CLS has stopped paying its part of the mortgage, sending Jackson into default and foreclosure.
Fannie Mae bought the mortgage from the bank, and is trying to evict Jackson, a paraplegic since
age 14, to recoup some of the money it paid for the mortgage.
Join with Jerome, his family, friends and allies at this fundraiser. Jerome is an organizer in the
fight to defend his home and the homes of others in and around Metro Detroit.
