We’ll stand at the start of the hearing to show Judge Patricia Jefferson the community stands behind the Cullors’ struggle to keep their home.

  • Jerry Cullors is a retired bakery truck driver and Teamster who took steep wage and pension cuts as Wonder Bread slipped into bankruptcy.
  • That made it hard to pay the mortgage on their Rosedale Park home, serviced by Countrywide, the predatory lender now owned by Bank of America.
  • Bank of America led the Cullors to believe they would qualify for a loan modification before suddenly bringing eviction proceedings.
  • Jerry and his wife live with their daughter and her grandmother— who is 88 years old and suffers from Alzheimers—in the home they’ve owned for 23 years.
  • Fannie Mae bought the Cullors’ mortgage from Bank of America. It can sell the house to a non-profit organization which will keep the Cullors in their home. We want the court to allow time for this to happen.
  • We don’t want another empty home blighting the neighborhood!

Call Fannie Mae and tell them to sell the house at its appraised value to Southwest Housing Solutions so that the Cullors can arrange to stay in their home at 14503 Artesian, Detroit.
